Around the World Date Night- Peru

This past weekend we headed to "Inca's Peruvian Cuisine" in Scottsdale, for our Around the World Date Night.
Things started out great.

There was an authentic Peruvian band playing.

We enjoyed a tasty little appetizer.
My food came and it looked delicious.

And then Lee's food came...........

Let's take a closer look shall we?
Yikes! I'm a pretty adventurous eater, but that thing freaked me out. There were at least 5 of these guys on Lee's "seafood sampler" plate. And being the good sport that he is, he muscled them down.
All in all, it was a fun place to eat. although if we ever eat there again Lee's going to skip the seafood and order something that walked on land.

Hi there! I stumbled across your blog recently and just had to comment on this one. My husband is from Peru and my mother-in-law (who lives with us) continues to cook Peruvian food from scratch almost daily (luckily, no crazy seafood.) They have some crazy cuisines but also lots of really yummy stuff. If you guys like fish - get ceviche next time (no octopus!) I also love the lomo saltado ( a stir fry of sorts) and bistec a la pobre which is meat with rice, fried egg and potatoes. That is awesome you guys are so adventurous in your eating. Have you tried pupusas from El Salvador? there use to be a pretty good place by the Food City near John c Lincoln (19th and Northern I think)
