Bookcase Styling

I don't claim to be an expert on bookcase styling, or anything else for that matter, but I thought I'd give you a little glimpse at how I styled my family room hutch.

To keep it from looking to cluttered, I kept everything in it very neutral, using mostly items that are white, cream, brown or black.

I used a lot of framed pictures, this one is from a thrift store.

Lee brought these little birds back from Germany.

This bowl was also a thrift store find.

As was this snail. It started off an ugly brown, but painted white, it looks pretty cool.
I also love stacks of books- especially grouped by color.

A big twig ball adds some texture.

I like how the items inside the cabinet pick up the coloring of the cabinet itself.

And the grass cloth back pulls it all together.
