Paris: Up the Eiffel Tower

After Rue Cler, we booked it back to the Tower to meet up with Dave, Debra, and Jeff, and get in line for our 11:30 reservation to the top.

The area around the Eiffel Tower is so pretty. Last year we stayed on the other side of the city, near Notre Dame. It was a much more vibrant area to be in, but I think I prefer the quiet, tree lined streets by the tower.

We got a better look at the "United Buddy Bear" display in the daytime.

Here's the one from the U.S.

This thing is crazy tall!

Time to catch the elevator!
It takes two elevators to reach the top. The first one goes diagonally up the leg. The second one is a long, straight shot to the top.

The views are worth the trip!
That's the Arc de Triomphe on the right.

Lee and I.

Dave and Debra.

The inner structure of the tower is pretty neat as well.

I especially love the big yellow gears.
( I think this picture was taken on the second of three levels)

Tres belle!
