Last Saturday we returned from a nine day trip up north. Our trip included a stop in Utah, driving through Idaho and Wyoming, touring Yellowstone, and finally landing at the home of Lee's brother and his wife (Don Mark and Tana), in Belgrade Montana.
Here's their cute house! Belgrade is a small town right next to Bozeman. It was really beautiful up there.
My pictures are not in order, but here are a few thing we did on the trip.
We toured the Lewis and Clark Caverns. This was a favorite with all the kids, except Abby. We hiked up the mountain to the opening of the cave, and then took an almost two hour climb through them.
They were really amazing.
There is something fascinating, yet creepy, about being in a cave.
Here's the family with the tour guide on the way out.
We rented a 14 passenger van for our second trip into Yellowstone, so we could all ride together and have plenty of room to stretch out. They'll be lots of pictures of Yellowstone in my next post!
Although we didn't camp, we enjoyed hanging out at Don Mark and Tana's campsite, and eating the great food they prepared for us.
Emily ate her weight in roasted marshmallows.
We also hung out and helped (OK...watched) Don Mark build a fire pit in their backyard. Which we enjoyed using during a family dinner later that night.
.....more trip stuff to come.
