Painting Pine Cones

I'm working with a friend on some decorations for an upcoming Christmas party at my church. I'm trying to do stuff on the cheap, so this project was perfect! Free pine cones collected from parks and yards, and a can of Rust-oleum gold paint, equals big impact for not a lot of money.

The paint is oil based, which makes it more of a pain to work with.
But the finish and color are worth it.

In order to cut down on the mess, I dipped one side first, let them dry, and then dipped the other side.

Aren't they pretty?
